Today, we proudly celebrated the official opening of the St Anne’s Lift, a transformative project made possible through the generous support of the Federal Government, whose contribution helped bring this vision to life. This new lift and precinct open doors in every sense, improving access to learning and office spaces, enhancing amenities, and strengthening the communal heart of our College, the Quad. It will serve as a vital gathering space and connection point to our learning wings, allowing us to create environments that better reflect contemporary learning and working needs, while supporting our ever growing community.
This has been a significant project, navigating complex access and heritage requirements and spanning the leadership of three Principals. We acknowledge and thank former Principals Judith Potter and Michelle Brodrick for their vision and drive, former Business Manager Jeff Primmer, our current Business Manager, Brenton Riordan, and our dedicated Maintenance team for their persistence and commitment.
Our sincere thanks also go to the many professionals who brought this project to fruition, Morton and Co Architects, led by Alan Morton alongside Russell Hawkes, Jim Wilmot, Matthew Broughton, Brad Webb, and the late Peter John Di Michiel.
To the team at Build Forth, Directors Bryce and Brooke Nicholson, Jason(Site Foreman), Britt O’Brien(Contract Administrator), and the many subcontractors involved, we thank you for your expertise and care in delivering this important development for our College community.
As part of the day, we were also honoured to officially open our new sensory garden alongside our Learning Diversity Hub. This beautiful and thoughtfully designed space provides students with a calm, restorative environment that supports wellbeing, regulation, and inclusive learning. The sensory garden offers opportunities for quiet reflection, sensory engagement, and supported learning experiences. It is a place where every student can feel supported, grounded, and ready to learn.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our generous donors who made the sensory garden possible. Your support has created a space that will positively impact our students for years to come, and we are deeply grateful for your commitment to our College community.
Today marks not just the opening of new spaces, but the beginning of new opportunities for learning, connection, and growth.
