Scholarships that open doors
As part of our commitment to making a quality education accessible for all students, we offer a range of scholarships and bursaries to support and enable a Loreto education.
‘Rise Up’ Scholarships for Excellence
Loreto Rise Up Scholarships nurture individual students’ talents and interests in a wide range of learning opportunities across all areas of the curriculum.
A limited number of scholarships are awarded to well-rounded students who demonstrate excellence in one of the following areas: academics, music, performing arts and sport.
These scholarships support the ongoing development of the student in their chosen field and assist families with the costs associated with competition or performance at an elite level through a remission of tuition fees.
Scholarships are available to new and current students.

Academic Excellence scholarships are offered to incoming Year 7 students. To sit for the scholarship, students must currently be in Grade 6.

Bursaries
Named in memory and honour of past pupil Dora O’Sullevan by her sister Rita Andre (nee O’Sullevan), this bursary supports students who may not otherwise be able to attend the College. The profound generosity of the O’Sullevan sisters and the Coghlan family and their belief in the value of a Loreto education has ensured their connection to our College and future generations of Loreto students will endure.
Eligibility
To be considered for a bursary, a student must be from a family that is encountering financial difficulties which may otherwise prevent their daughter from attending Loreto College Ballarat. Eligible candidates can be current or prospective students at any year level.
Consideration for bursaries are reviewed annually on a case-by-case basis.
