Loreto College Ballarat is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Christine Shaw as the College’s 32nd Principal, commencing in 2026.
Mrs Shaw is a familiar and highly respected member of the Loreto community, having served as Deputy Principal for the past four years, including several periods as Acting Principal. A passionate leader in girls’ education, she brings a distinguished career in educational leadership across both regional and metropolitan independent schools.
During her time as Deputy Principal, Mrs Shaw has played a pivotal role in shaping the College’s strategic direction, educational vision and inclusive culture. She brings extensive experience in strategic and master planning, the development of innovative teaching, learning and wellbeing frameworks, critical incident management, and school operations.
Mrs Shaw’s vision is to lead with faith and purpose, fostering a learning community where every student is known, valued and empowered to thrive as a confident and compassionate.
Prior to joining Loreto College, Mrs Shaw held senior leadership roles at Avila College, Melbourne Girls Grammar, Ballarat Clarendon College and Ballarat Grammar, contributing to a broad and impressive career in educational leadership.
Mrs Shaw will step into the role in 2026, following the departure of Michelle Brodrick, who will conclude her time as Principal after five and a half years of dedicated service. The College warmly acknowledges Michelle’s significant contribution and looks forward to celebrating her leadership with staff in the coming weeks.
