Loreto Shines at Legacy Public Speaking Competition

11 June 2025

Loreto students proudly represented the College at the Legacy Public Speaking Competition on Wednesday 11 June. With 17 outstanding participants, the standard was exceptionally high, showcasing the remarkable talent and preparation of all involved.

Prepared speeches covered a diverse range of inspiring topics, from feminism and technology to achieving personal bests and striving for excellence. In the impromptu section, students were given just five minutes to prepare a speech on the topic "Everyone should have...". This led to engaging and creative speeches on subjects such as pets, dogs, education, and dreams.

Congratulations to all the participants, and in particular to our Loreto students: Isabella McMahon, Matilda Goodbourn, Charlotte Irvin, Eva Cummins, and Milla Russell. A special congratulations to Milla Russell, who was awarded joint-first place, and to Eva Cummins, who was named runner-up!

This year’s success continues a proud Loreto tradition, with the College receiving awards at this prestigious competition every year for almost 10 years. This is a testament to the dedication, confidence, and articulate presentation skills of our students.

Well done to all involved. Your hard work, courage, and passion continue to inspire!
