Brianna Shines at Pony Club Nationals

15 October 2025

Year 12 student Brianna Ballesty recently competed in the Pony Club Australia National Championships representing Team Victoria proudly.

In her riding, Brianna placed 1st and 4th, securing an impressive 2nd place overall in her Dressage division, along with a 2nd place for her team in the Formal Gymkhana. She also competed in the Quiz placing 3rd overall.

Brianna was also awarded the inaugural National Welfare & Soundness Award from an Australia-wide field. Brianna is setting an inspiring standard for thoughtful, evidence-based horse care. Known for her calm, practical approach, Brianna carefully manages every aspect of her horses’ wellbeing — from hoof health and training load to nutrition and day-to-day management.

Additionally, earlier in the same week Brianna rode in the Pony Club International virtual dressage show, in the Prix Caprilli class. This is the third time she has ridden at an International level and we await the results of this event.

Congratulations, Brianna - a shining example of riding talent along with being a compassionate and true advocate for putting horse welfare first.
