As part of the Senior Pathways Microcredential Program, we invite our senior students to be involved in the Food Handling, First Aid and RSA Microcredential Certificate Program.
Food Handling Certificate
Completing a Food Handling Certificate gives students valuable practical skills in food safety, hygiene, and workplace responsibility. The qualification can support future employment opportunities, particularly in hospitality and customer service industries, while also building confidence and knowledge that students can apply in everyday life and community activities.

This nationally recognised course covers emergency management and first aid response skills for both community and workplace settings. Students will learn CPR, how to respond to cardiac emergencies, burns, fractures, head injuries, poisoning, medical emergencies (diabetes, seizures, stroke), respiratory issues (asthma, anaphylaxis), shock, temperature extremes, wound care, and relevant legal considerations.First aid certification is highly valued by employers, demonstrates responsibility and preparedness, and is a requirement in many industries for workplace safety compliance.

An RSA certificate is a legal requirement in Victoria for anyone working with alcohol in licensed venues such as bars, hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, and bottle shops. While students under 18 can complete the course, they may only serve alcohol once they turn 18. The certificate is valid for three years, after which a free online refresher course can be completed.
